Motorola is always among one of the quickest Android OEMs to release the major Android OS update. We expect the record to remain unchallenged with Oreo rollout too, with their flagship device, the Moto Z2 Force, expected to become one of the first Android devices to get an Android 8.0 OTA.
Android 8.1 OTA rollout has begun
Sure, the Moto G5S and G5S Plus, for whom Motorola specifically confirmed Oreo rollout to happen soon are in the line too, but the flagship device in Z2 Force should take center stage in the first rollout of 8.0 from Motorola.
Update [June 18, 2018]: Verizon Wireless has also commenced the rollout of Android 8.0 Oreo to the Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Force Droid. The update had already rolled out to the unlocked models in the U.S., but now those on the carrier-branded Droids can now enjoy the same dessert.
Motorola had been expected to update the Moto Z Play to Android Oreo somewhere this Q2 2018 and indeed, the company has delivered by commencing the rollout in India. The first instance of Moto Z Play and Oreo came back in 2017, where the phone was reported to be testing the OS in Brazil, but contrary to the expectation, the first stable release has been spotted in India.
Update [May 25, 2018]: Motorola has begun rolling out Android 8.0 to the Moto Z Play in the U.S., over a month following the commencement of the rollout in India. The update comes with April 2018 security patch and installs software version OPN27.76-12-22. If you are yet to see it, Motorola says you can trigger the manual update via Settings > About phone > System updates.
IST 11:55 am: Nokia is yet to unveil its plans for the rollout Android 11 for its smartphone. However, thanks to third-party development, Nokia 6.1 Plus users can try out Android 11 via the POSP custom ROM for the device. For more details, head here.

IST 06:34 pm: For some unknown reason, the Android 11 rollout for Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2 has stopped in some regions. However, users can still download it manually. To do so, head here.
First spotted by The Android Soul, the Android 9.0 Pie-based EMUI 9.0.1 has started rolling out to the Honor 8X devices across India and Asia-Pacific countries. The report suggests users across these countries are receiving these OTA updates of Android Pie to their Honor 8X devices. Further, it also reveals the firmware versions of the respective countries, and as for India, the OTA update bearing 9.0.1.156 (SP52C675E2R1P1) version number has begun to roll out to the consumers. Besides, the update size appears to be quite significant around 3.15GB or so.
Well, these are few of the noticeable new features on the Android 9.0 Pie-based EMUI 9.0.1 on the Honor 8X smartphone. As always, the rollout will take place in stages and may take a bit of time before it is finally available globally. As told earlier, users in Brazil and India have already started receiving it. Google has started to release the January security patch to its Pixel and Nexus devices. Today's rollout follows last month's mega release of the Android 8.1 Oreo.
