The project initially started out as an experiment and was meant to prove that it was possible to have a fully working, cross-platform RTS game running in a web browser. Now, with a playable version already available, the end-goal is reaching feature parity with the original vanilla "Red Alert 2" engine.
Windows detects red alert 2 and applies compat settings automatically, that fails on custom installations. You could try to apply them on your own using the application compatibility toolkit from microsoft, here are the settings you need to apply (game.exe / gamemd.exe):

On my Athlon 64 X2 4800+ (no video card), I put 20000 in the Mo'Slo 4BIZ 'Slow to' setting and then I ran Red Alert and set the in-game Scroll Rate setting to the lowest. This ran the game beautifully with the game speed running smoothly and the scroll rate perfect (for my tastes anyway).

The two bundled campaigns - Red Alert and Yuri's Revenge - follow on from the first game, and pitch the Allies and the Soviet Union against each other in a range of missions from small and stealthy to fast-paced, full-scale multi-unit battles.
The game should work on any modern PC - and most ancient ones, too - but keep in mind that it expects to be running full-screen and exclusively. If you Alt+Tab away to some other application, the game screen may not be displayed correctly when you switch back.
